BACOLLYWOOD: CINEMA REHIYON National Film Festival 2012, a pilot project of the National Commission of Culture and the Arts (NCCA) Committee on Cinema in celebration of this year’s National Arts Month opens in Bacolod City starting February 8 to 11, 2012 at Robinson’s Movie World Cinema 6. This festival features the works of filmakers from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. There is a Cine de Barrio component will be shown in alternative venues in the barangays beginning at Brgy. 19 on February 8 featuring films
from the Visayas.
These are Halad by Paolo Lindaya (Bacolod),
Promisa by EJ Ballesteros (Bacolod), Saranghe My Tutor by Victor Villanueva (Cebu), Small World by Marvin Russel Elaba (Bohol), Suga by Stephen Abanto (dumaguete), and Tamawo by Peque Gallaga (Bacolod). On February 9 films Luzon will be shown at Brgy. Villamonte namely Bogwa by Malaya Camporedondo (Baguio), Baon by Mark Sherwin Maestro (Cavite), Ang Payaso At Ang Prinsesa by Kris Anne Dela Peña (Batangas), Maulap Na Kalangitan Na May Kalat-kalat Na Pag-ulan by Jason Paul Laxamana (Nueva Ecija), Sanayan lang Ang Pagpatay by Gil Joseph Sanchez (Camarines Sur), and Roleks by Philip Matthew Rosales & Nostradamus Flores (Batangas). Films from Mindanao will be shown in Brgy. Punta Taytay on February 10.
