THE HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGER
Shopping Center Management Corporation
North Wing Bldg., SM City Bacolod
Reclamation Area, Bacolod City
SM City Bacolod will hold a Green Film Festival which will feature free showing of selected award-winning documentaries by BBC and Discovery on June 28-29, 2010 from 8AM – 12NN at SM Cinema 4.
The films to be shown will be State of the Planet, The 11th Hour and Planet Earth. This will be attended by the students of the Bacolod City College.
State of the Planet, a BBC/Discovery Channel Co-Production, 2000 has been awarded Special Jury Award Jackson Hole in 2003. David Attenborough presents a programme that delves into the current state of the planet as he journeys across the globe to demystify what is happening to the planet as a result of human destruction. His quest takes him on a truly global trail, from Kenya to Ecuador, from the Philippines and the Maldives to Easter Island, and from South Africa to California.
The 11th HOUR was produced in 2007. Actor Leonardo DiCaprio presents this thought-provoking documentary about the fragile state of our planet’s ecosystems and the dangers we face. We’ve all seen the devastating effects of natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina, and now scientists and experts from around the world believe that unless we act immediately to cut carbon emissions and switch to renewable energy sources, humankind is in very real danger of becoming extinct.
Planet Earth (BBC, 2006) is a winner of 4 Primetime Emmy Awards 2007. Four years in the making, it was the most expensive nature documentary series ever commissioned by the BBC, and also the first to be filmed in high definition. The series was co-produced by the Discovery Channel and NHK in association with CBC, and was described by its makers as “the definitive look at the diversity of our planet”. A hundred years ago, there were one and a half billion people on Earth. Now, over six billion crowd our fragile planet. But even so, there are still places barely touched by humanity. This series will take you to the last wildernesses and show you the planet and its wildlife as you have never seen them before.

I had a fabulous time last February 2, 2010! Ms. Lorena of SM City Bacolod gave the Negros Bloggers 10 complementary tickets to the live performance of Ballet Philippines. So, together with my co-members Glady of Experience Negros, May of Nshima Servings, and I, Pinay Mommy Online, went to SM City Bacolod Cinema 1 to watch.
As expected, the show is so magical! It was my first time to watch ballet dancers perform live in front of my eyes! It was truly amazing. Since I don’t have any nice digital camera around, I settled in taking pictures using my new cell phone. So pardon me for these lousy pictures since it was dark and fuzz.

Thank you SM City Bacolod for the opportunity of a lifetime to see the live performance of Ballet Philippines and the VIP seats too!
